nother Beautiful Day at Avila Ranch Golf Course!

Today’s match play was based on players’ handicaps, and what a day it was!

In the first group, Jose Sermeno and Nathan Kester ended up all square, even though their scores were a bit higher than usual. Still, it was an exciting match! The towering 6’7″ player Miller gave Ed Leighton quite a scare—he had to leave on the 12th hole. But no worries—Ed’s doing fine and promises to come back strong!

Dave Trimborn cruised to victory over David Smario, 5 & 4. David is still learning the ropes and how to handle match play pressure. He’s got great potential and will be a fine golfer one day.

Mike Finneran outdueled Andrew Everett with a 2 & 1 win. Too bad Andrew couldn’t replicate his stellar performance from yesterday.

Mark Bayarsky came out hot—6 up after 7 holes! But Joey Baer didn’t give up and fought back, but did not win.   Mark won 3 & 2.

Blaine Heckley played solo but drew a blind match against Kyle Bayarsky—they ended up all square.

Bobby Audette who turned 70 yesterday  showed how to win with style, taking down Mark Bella 4 & 3.

John Maucere, returning to golf only three years ago, defeated Ron Bye for a solid 5 & 4 win.

David Thompson pulled out a clutch even match on the final hole against Kevin Blackmer.

Jaime Jackerson, known for his hustle, edged out Rick Herbold 2 & 1 in a nail-biter.

PCDGC is inching closer to overall victory! The youngest of the group, Kyle Bayarsky, may have let a few vulgar words slip—but it seemed to fire up Doug Driesbach, who’s back from knee surgery and played brilliantly, winning 5 up with 3 to go.

Walt Witzcak had his family here for a heartwarming reunion, though his game was a bit off—Herintook the win 3 & 2.

And in the second blind draw of the day, Blaine Heckley once again matched up with Kyle—and once again, they ended even.

NCGAD took the win yesterday with a 5–1 score, while PCDGC bounced back today with a 6½ to 5½ victory. That means both teams split the match days evenly—but in total, NCGAD came out on top with 11½ to 6½.

Everyone had a fantastic time—great golf, great company, and lots of laughs.

Thanks to Mr. Steve Martinez, Avila Beach Golf Resort pro,  and his staff for making this happen.

We’re already looking forward to coming back… maybe next year!
