As of March 16
Hey Golfers,
What a beautiful day to play golf at Jurupa Hills! Eleven golfers—minus one who called in sick—enjoyed the round, regardless of their scores, except for the young guy who shot even par.
Michael “Mabby” Mabashov never ceases to amaze us with his golf game, especially his hot putter, needing only 27 putts. He won by a large margin—about time! He even had a chauffeur and caddy, Ken Watson who has been disabled for a while. Bless him.
Fadi Haddad, who drove two hours through the infamous LA traffic, shot 103. However, his high handicap brought his score down to 72. His handicap will drop as he plays more often. He also claimed three skins.
For closest to the pin (CTP) on one short hole, David Thompson—who already has two aces—barely missed another, landing just 2 feet 8 inches away. He was so excited that he even missed his birdie putt!
In addition to Fadi, the skin winners were Robert Audette, who secured the first two holes, along with Eddie Ewald, Doug Ellis, and David Thompson, who each won one.
Rick George announced that yesterday’s PCDGC event would be his last, as he needs to focus on his health. PCDGC wishes him well and celebrated with a free dinner at Luna Grill. Eight of us enjoyed the meal—see the pictures on the website!
Unfortunately, our president, who is passionate about this organization, was left out without any winnings. There’s always next time! He just needs to practice a bit more then he will be fine. So is Mark Bayarsky, a CODA with a pure DEAF heart.
Looking ahead, this Tuesday we will play at Indian Hills, starting at 4:20 PM for nine holes. Interested? Let me know, and I’ll arrange the pairings!
