Tournaments

PCDGC typically hosts 8-10 tournaments per season, from August through June. This includes regular monthly events plus special tournaments like the Championship and special cups.

Tournament registration is available online through our website. Visit the Tournaments page, find the upcoming event, and click the registration link. You can also contact the Tournament Director directly.

Most PCDGC tournaments are 18-hole stroke play events. We use both gross and net scoring, with prizes awarded in multiple flights. Some events feature special formats like scrambles, best ball, or match play.

Entry fees typically cover green fees, cart rental, prize fund contributions, and CTP/longest drive pools. The exact breakdown varies by event and course.

Non-members may participate in some events as guests, subject to availability and at the Tournament Director's discretion. Guest fees may apply. We encourage regular participants to become members!

Handicaps

Yes, a valid USGA Handicap Index is required for tournament participation. This ensures fair competition across all skill levels. New members without an established handicap will play at scratch for their first three events.

You can obtain a USGA Handicap Index through various golf associations. Many public courses offer handicap services, or you can join through the SCGA (Southern California Golf Association) or NCGA (Northern California Golf Association).

Under the World Handicap System, handicaps are updated daily. Tournament handicaps are based on your index at the time of the event, typically using the most recent revision.

General

PCDGC tournaments are held at various courses throughout California, primarily in the Southern California and Central California regions. Course locations are announced with each event.
