Diamond Bar Golf Course

Good morning, golfers.

Yesterday the PCDGC core golfers gathered at Diamond Bar and had a great time. The first two groups made it in before dusk, but the last group—starting at 2:36—ran out of daylight and finished just one hole short. Close, but no cigar. We feasted at Chili’s, and the server was a champ—serving us surprisingly delicious food and chatted. Keith Adams received a surprise gift of over 250 golf balls donated by Native Oaks Players Club members. They will be used for CSDR kids who will soon be golfers.

We had 10 golfers total. Two decided not to enter the prize pool. One of them actually could have won some prizes but chose not to play for them. “Important Cool” I’m guessing next time he might rethink that decision!

Here are the results and pictures, which will also appear on our new (still under construction) beautiful website: FWGAD.org. Fadi has been working hard adding information and hopes to have it fully ready within a month or two.

Good news from this gathering—we discovered three “new” golfers. Even better, San Diego Deaf golfers met last Monday for the first time since 1985. That’s a long gap! The plan is to meet once a month (second Monday) for now—except July, when we’ll head north for FWGAD in the Bay Area. Next one will be at Dos Oros in Escondido on April 11.

Our next outing will be at Native Oaks on April 11 at 1:30 PM, followed by dinner. Champ course and champ food—hard to beat that combination.

Mike’s 977th golf course was Diamond Bar. Number 978 will be San Clemente Golf Course on March 26. If you’re interested, let me know and I’ll book tee times so we can enjoy the course together.

So far eight golfers are in… fun, fun, fun!
