Golfers:
Yesterday’s golf tournament at Dad Miller was a blast for all 8 golfers! The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, and the pace of play was nice.as we wrapped up the round right on time for all 18 holes.
A big congratulations to Bobby Audette, who shot a 94 with a handicap of 22, giving him a net 72 and snatching the win from Louis Pedroza! Louis, playing on his home turf, had an impressive 75 with zero handicap. His personal best 65! And the only Tiger Woods holds the course record with a blistering 61. His home course where he grew up.
Doug Ellis, who hasn’t hit the course much lately, still showed he knows how to hit his ball straight, securing a solid 3rd place. In 4th place, Farley Warshaw soared with a 39 on the front nine but hit a rough patch with a 50 on the back, deflating his spirits just a bit.
Rick George played pretty well with his handicap score, but it wasn’t enough to make the cut for prize money. However, he bagged a rare birdie on the par 3, earning himself a few bucks!
Mike Finneran set a record—just not the one he wanted! Despite sinking 29 putts, he didn’t walk away with any winnings this time, losing out to Jose Sermeno, who came all the way down from the Bay Area and edged him out with 28 putts earning his gas money.
And last but not least, David Thompson carded an 84 net but cashed in on skins and closest-to-the-pin, padding his wallet nicely!
All in all, it was a fantastic day on the course, with plenty of fun and friendly competition. Mark your calendars (and use a Sharpie, not just a pencil!) for our next outing on November 2nd at Native Oaks, where they’re treating us to a dinner at a special price.
Till next time!
